Longevity Sciences Conference
Worldwide – Virtually
September 10, 2024
Join us for the Davos in the Desert’s 2024 Longevity Sciences Conference, an innovative virtual event that brings together leading executives, pioneering researchers, industry experts, and enthusiasts from around the world.
This conference offers a unique opportunity to delve into the latest advancements in longevity sciences, exploring groundbreaking research and emerging technologies aimed at extending the human health span. Whether you are a scientist, healthcare professional, investor, or simply passionate about longevity, this event is designed to provide valuable insights and foster meaningful connections in the quest to slow down aging and improve quality of life.
Longevity sciences focus on extending the health span by slowing the rate of aging.
The Longevity Sciences Industry is multi-faceted, with new approaches being explored globally. Key segments include:
- Senolytics and Senescence: These focus on removing or rejuvenating senescent cells, which accumulate with age and contribute to various age-related diseases.
- Telomere Research: Telomeres, protective caps at the end of chromosomes, play a role in cellular aging. Research aims to maintain or lengthen telomeres.
- Metabolic Interventions: Caloric restriction, intermittent fasting, and mimetics (such as resveratrol) target metabolic pathways to promote longevity.
- Epigenetics: Understanding how gene expression changes with age and finding ways to modulate it for healthier aging.
- Stem Cell Therapies: Using stem cells to regenerate damaged tissues and organs.
- Biological Clocks: Investigating biological clocks (e.g., circadian rhythms) and their impact on aging.
- NAD+ Boosters: NAD+ is crucial for cellular energy production. Boosting NAD+ levels may enhance health span.
- AI and Longevity: Machine learning and AI help analyze large datasets and identify potential interventions.
It is challenging to determine the exact size of the Longevity Sciences Industry. However, research suggests that the Longevity and Anti-Senescence Therapy Market was valued at roughly $27 billion in 2023 and is predicted to reach nearly $45 billion by 2031, reflecting a 6.8% compound annual growth rate.
In 2022, global longevity investment reached $5.2 billion, with 130 deals. Longevity investment has been on a significant rise over the past decade, from $0.5 billion in 2013 to a peak of $6.2 billion in 2021. Notably, the $3 billion financing for Altos Labs, a company focused on cellular reprogramming, was a landmark deal in 2022.
Each management team will discuss their companies’ scientific approach to enhancing human (or animal) longevity. Topics will include the state of research, research teams, collaborations, and progression through the regulatory process. The presenting executives will also cover addressable markets, payor profiles, pricing strategies, and other go-to-market strategies.
Note: All times Pacific
9:30 am – Welcoming Remarks
Speaker: David Wanetick, CEO, Davos in the Desert
9:35 am – Overview of Funding Trends and Exits in the Longevity and Stem Cell Industries
Speaker: David Wanetick, CEO, Davos in the Desert
10:00 am – Overview of Longevity Sciences
Which segments of Longevity Sciences are demonstrating the most progress? What are the growth drivers for Longevity? How are Longevity Companies managing regulatory pathways? What are the payor profiles for Longevity solutions? How are Longevity companies navigating third-party payor protocols?
Speakers: Steve Garan, Director of Bioinformatics, Center for Research & Education on Aging
Dr. Nuno Martins, Visiting scholar at the University of California Berkeley (Center for Science, Technology, Medicine and Society)
Brian Wang, Futurist Thought Leader, Nextbigfuture.com
Paul A. Spiegel, Principal Counsel, Eclectic Law
11:00 am – SMSbiotech
SMSbiotech has a groundbreaking proprietary technology based on our discovery, identification, and naming of Small Mobile Stem(SMS) cells. We are working on a cell-therapy based cure for COPD. Animal studies have shown 100% regeneration in 10 days or less. In laboratory and animal model studies, SMS cells have demonstrated the ability to stimulate lung cells and restore damaged lung air sacs structurally and functionally to 100% in 10 days or less. Uniquely, SMS cells can be administered non-invasively directly to the lung through inhalation using a nebulizer.
Speaker: Dr. Abdulkader Rahmo – Co-Founder, President, CSO – SMSbiotech
11:45 am – BioChange
BioChange invented a tissue scaffold which restores cellular communication to the level it was at the embryonic stage, enabling cells to rebuild damaged tissues and organs, restoring youth and functionality.
Speaker: Ishay Attar – Founder, Chairman and CTO, CSO – BioChange
